Artist Doug Schatz ’92 visited campus in connection to the Resolution of Arts and Sciences show. A geology as well as art major, he’s into metal and fire, so he conducted a “sculpture burn” whose star/victim was a huge puppy—because, Schatz said, he was intrigued by the idea of comfort and cuddliness covering hard steeliness.
